Your Questions Answered!

1. Do you prefer location or studio shots?

     - I actually don't have a preference.  For newborns and a lot of infants, I do all studio work and love it!  For families and other milestone sessions I prefer an outdoor location.  There is nothing better than the beautiful, glowing light during the evening sunset.

2. What has been the biggest struggle of being a momma if 2?

-I have been a mom of two for 4 weeks now.  The first week was definitely an adjustment, but I had a wonderful support system with my husband and my mother was here to help.  The second week when Grandma had gone home and Daddy went back to work was when things got real.  Emersyn is absolutely in love with her little sister, so that has been such a blessing to witness.  The biggest struggle these past weeks has been giving big sister the attention she needs.  She is a two year old with A LOT of energy.  Occasionally when Lennon is napping, we get time to cuddle that is special.  I also incorporate here into diaper changes and feeding time, which she loves because it makes her feel so big.

3. Do you take "you" time. If so what do you do?

-Sadly these days my time is TARGET! :) I have an unhealthy obsession with Target and could get lost in there for hours.  The other night there was enough milk in the fridge for me to be able to leave and all I wanted to get was some Diet Coke.  I could have gone down the street to the gas station, but NO I drove across town to Target.  It was Fabulous!

4. What is your favorite thing to photograph? If kids what age?

-Babies and High School Seniors are my favorites.  Newborns would be at the top of the list.  I love getting the memory card into the computer as soon as the session is over and looking at the memories I'm going to provide a family.  With the Fall coming up, there will be a lot of families and I love watching the interaction between parents and their kids and siblings playing.  I feel so lucky to be in this industry!

5. For someone looking to take their camera off automatic, what setting do you use for children moving quickly?

-Your shutter speed is the number one key in this case.  Children move fast and if your shutter speed isn't set appropriately, your images will come out blurry.  For moving children, you will want your shutter speed to be at least 1/250 or higher.

I'll be answering more of your questions in future blogs!
